Network for Vocational Education Enhancing Nutrition in Cancer Patients

Nurishwell is an international project that brings together experts in clinical oncology, nutrition science, culinary arts, and vocational education to strengthen education on personalised nutrition for cancer patients and survivors.

Evidence-based knowledge with hands-on culinary training

The project addresses a well-recognised gap between healthcare needs and vocational education by developing a blended learning programme that combines evidence-based knowledge with hands-on culinary training.

By equipping future nutrition and culinary professionals with specialised competencies in oncology nutrition, NourishWell aims to improve nutritional support throughout cancer treatment and survivorship.

The main objectives of the Nurishwell project are to:

  • increase awareness of the role of nutrition in cancer treatment, recovery, and long-term survivorship
  • improve vocational education in nutrition and culinary professions through oncology-focused, practice-oriented learning
  • strengthen the competencies of students, educators, and mentors in personalised nutrition for cancer care
  • bridge the gap between vocational training and healthcare needs by integrating clinical expertise into educational curricula
  • establish a sustainable international network of vocational schools, healthcare institutions, and NGOs

Nurishwell is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme and represents a small-scale partnership in vocational education and training. The project promotes cross-sector and cross-country collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation in education, with the long-term goal of strengthening patient-centred cancer care through improved nutritional education.
